Jason Momoa to attend premieres in Sydney and Gold Coast to bring Aquaman back to Australia

In anticipation for his role as Aquaman in Warner Bros. Pictures’ production of the DC film, Jason Momoa will be visiting the Gold Coast and Sydney for a celebratory greeting with fans!

Warner Bros. Pictures and Roadshows Films have announced that the actor, as part of his cross-continent tour, will be greeting fans and walking the blue carpet on the Gold Coast on December 18, and in Sydney the following evening.

Aquaman is an upcoming action-packed adventure from director James Wan, spanning the vast and visually breath-taking underwater world of the seven seas. Momoa takes the title role, playing Aquaman, otherwise known as Arthur Curry, a half-human, half-Atlantean who sets off on a journey that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

The film will also star Amber Heard (Justice League, Magic Mike XXL) as Mera, a fierce warrior and Aquaman’s ally; Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (Platoon, Spider-Man) as Vulko, council to Atlantean throne; Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring films, Watchmen) as Orm/Ocean Master and present King of Atlantis; Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables films) as Nereus, King of the Atlantean tribe Xebel; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Netflix’s The Get Down) as the vengeful Black Manta; and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman (The Hours, Lion) as Arthur’s mom, Atlanna; as well as Ludi Lin (Power Rangers) as Captain Murk, Atlantean Commando; and Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Green Lantern) as Arthur’s father, Tom Curry.

Wan will be directing from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2) and Will Beall (Gangster Squad, TV’s Training Day). The story will be written by Wan,  Beall and Geoff Johns based on characters from DC Aquaman created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger. Aquaman will be produced by Peter Safran and Rob Cowan, with Johns, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Jon Berg, and Walter Hamada serving as executive producers for the film.

Aquaman is set to hit cinemas in Australia and New Zealand on 26th December 2018, and is being released in 2D, 3D, 4D, Dolby Cinema and ScreenX in select theatres and IMAX worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
