Event Boutique: Inside Sydney’s new luxury cinemas

In an effort to offer a more immersive and quirkier experience for Sydney’s cinema enthusiasts, the team behind Event Cinemas George Street in the CBD have launched two brand new concepts collectively dubbed Australia’s “first Instagrammable cinema” as Event Boutique.

Marrying Event Cinemas with the rich heritage of the EVENT-owned State Theatre and the signature eccentricity of the company’s QT Hotels brand, both cinemas – “The Library” (32 seats) and “Paparazzi” (46 seats) – have been uniquely designed alongside a highly curated menu of food and drink that highlights local producers like Sonoma Bakery and Vic’s Meats.

Guests heading along to these premium boutique cinemas are able to order from their seat, browsing choices like platters of cured meats with hart and soft cheeses, substantial meals, and candy bar favourites.

And in a further attempt to enhance the viewing experience, both cinemas are fitted out with the new Boutique designer recliner and footrest, which ranked number one in market research for its appeal and comfort. This love of new seating options will also roll out to some of EVENT’s other new cinemas from mid-July, a burst which will include some luxurious new daybeds.

The Boutique range of cinemas also feature state-of-the-art sound and bigger screens as well as – from mid-July – make use of world-class pure laser projection for improved image quality. The latter is something that will also be rolled out in Gold Class at the same time.
