KFC is bringing exclusive free “chachos” to Melbourne

The fast food gods at KFC have been flirting with Mexican hybrid foods lately, birthing what they are describing as a “one-in-a-lifetime” special called “chachos” – obviously a portmanteau for chicken nachos.

And it seems Melbourne’s late-night locals are going to be the lucky ducks to receive this unholy creation, as KFC pull up their food truck in the city’s CBD to give away these chachos for one very tasty, finger-licking hour.

Set for Sunday 7th April between 2am and 3am – no that’s not a typo, this is only happening in the AM – KFC’s specialised food truck will pull up in front of the State Library on Swanston Street, set up a DJ for some sick beats, spread a few bean bags out, and immediately start giving away chachos for free.

This will be the first, and apparently only, time Australians are able to try the Chachos, so make sure you’re staying out real late on Saturday 6th before stumbling on over to let these servings of avocado, “Supercharged Sauce”, nacho cheese sauce, tomato salsa, and fried chicken absorb your liquid sins.

“We might be saying goodbye to summer, but we’re saying hello to a whole extra hour, so we thought – why not celebrate that and do something to make that magic hour special?”, asked CMO of KFC Krisi Woolrych. “If you’re out and about in Melbourne when the clocks go back, make sure you drop in, enjoy some finger lickin’ good chicken and have the best magic hour to end what we hope was an already amazing night.”

No bookings or tickets will be required. Just make sure you rock up early.
