Hey Australia: BWS is giving away rare 6-packs for free this Friday

Coming into the warmer parts of the year, there’s sure to be an increased intake in the nectar of the gods. With a massive push in the past decade towards micro and craft breweries, the domestic and international beer scene has seen astronomical growth, with seemingly every man and his dog now brewing their own beer (I’ll admit, I’ve tried it; I wouldn’t let my dog drink it). It’s getting hard to keep up with what’s out there.

Luckily for me, and everyone else, BWS have sourced unlikely, personality-filled beers from around the world and created what they’re touting as “the rarest 6 pick on earth”.

After polling thousands of domestic customers, BWS went on the world’s biggest beer run, spanning 50,000km and three continents, to bring together this unlikely collection. And for lucky beer drinkers across the country, the 6 packs are just about to land in select stores, available for free.

From 10am this Friday 18th October, in choice BWS stores, these 6 packs will be given away for free on a first come first serve basis. Did we mention that they are free? Just rock up from 10am on Friday to one of the stores listed below

The 6 packs include:

Minoh Brewery, Japan – Weizen
A non-pasteurised, award-winning drop. Japanese beer lovers can expect a premium brew that is both fruity and has notes of banana.

Namgay Artisanal, Bhutan – Bhutanese Red Rice Lager
This slightly roasted and sweet lager has a medium to full body. The bottle pours hazy amber with a small, frothy white head and overall clean character.

Schlenkeria, Germany – Aecht Ochlenferia Rauchbier
For those intrigued by a beer with a bacon-like smoke taste and after-taste, this drop boasts a toasty malt and light bitterness.

Stu Moscow Brewery, Poland – Crumble Sour IPA
A smooth and juicy, yet sour beer perfect for the warmer weather and rich food pairings like stew, venison gnocchi, and cinnamon crumble.

Hermano Republia, Mexico – Belgian Blond Ale
Handcrafted and non-pasteurised, the light ale pours amber with a lightly hoppy, light bodied mouthfeel and sour citrus on the nose.

CR/AK, Italy – Barrel Aged Saison.
Aged for seven months, the beer is 60% blended Scotch Whisky barrels and 40% in Caroni rum barrels.
