Bondi favourite Shuk is expanding to Chatswood and Elizabeth Bay

Renowned for their signature spin on Israeli and Middle Eastern cuisine, Bondi stalwart Shuk is finally ready to expand on out to the North Shore with two new venues, one in foodie hub Chatswood and one in the breezy Elizabeth Bay.

The expansion comes after celebrating their fifth year in the Bondi community, and it’s been a long time coming although owners Ariel Hefer, Erez Beker and Yonatan (Yoni) Kalfus wanted to wait until they found the perfect venues.

“We absolutely love our two new spaces and look forward to bringing the specialities that Shuk is known for to two new areas”, said Kalfus. “Finding the perfect venue for Shuk to grow was more important than how quickly we could expand”.

Chatswood’s space is open from today Monday 10th December, featuring enough space for 100 diners (40 of which are outdoor seats) with an adapted version of the al fresco dining style of Bondi, with breakfast and lunch daily and evening dining to come in the new year. Elizabeth Bay’s Shuk will follow early next month, sitting on the relaxed Roselyn Gardens, situated just a short stroll from Rushcutters Bay and Potts Point. It’ll be much smaller in size, with space for 50 diners for an intimate, village vibe, though it will be the only Shuk with a private dining room.

Head Chef German Sanchez will ensure everything that made Shuk one of Bondi’s most beloved dining spots will be mirrored onto these two new venues. Expect favourites like Shakshuka, Teff pancakes, hummus with lamb and grilled haloumi salad, and a few new ones as well.

Shuk Bakery will feature a selection of their signature daily baked bread and pastries including Challah, bagels, sourdough, muffins and more across both venues. Both new venues will trade from 6am Monday to Sunday for breakfast and lunch, with evening dining to come from Thursday to Saturday in the new year. More information can be found here.
