Adelaide’s Glass Tides have just dropped the latest single from their upcoming album, and we’re absolutely loving it!
Cutting their teeth with support slots for the likes of Thrice, Circa Survive, and Young Lions, the post-hardcore five-piece are due to drop their first full-length album in mid January next year. “Sympathy” is the third taste we’ve had of the release, following on from “Crawling” and “Waste“, a pop punk musing on “bringing out the most horrible thoughts you could think of yourself while in a dark place, but then still having hope that you are able to be whoever you want to be.”
Of the track, lead singer Paul Bakker says:
“It felt so natural to grab these thoughts of feeling down on yourself and picking at all your imperfections […] Working with the idea of nothing in this world is perfect and we all have our flaws, we just wanted to take an approach [with the video] where we aren’t ashamed of our flaws and we want to use them in a positive way to progress.”
