Kim Churchill to curate intimate “in the round” show in Sydney next week

The month In The Round Sessions return to Sydney’s Leadbelly (42 King St, Newtown) for its next edition on Tuesday 15th January, with Kim Churchill hosting and curating the evening, for an intimate appearance from the globally touring star.

The show will be one of his only appearances in Sydney ahead of the release of his next album, and a rare chance to see him in solo form, talking about songs new and old.

Rising stars Ruby Gill and Tyne-James Organ will be joining him, alongside a surprise singer/songwriter who will be revealed on the day.

In The Round at Leadbelly is inspired by the sessions at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, among many others, where four singer/songwriters get together to play their own songs, each others, some covers – and tell a few stories along the way. Expect a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration (just look at what happened at an earlier event) and an incredible evening of music across two sets.

Remaining first release tickets are incredibly limited at just $15+bf, and are available HERE.

The show will kick off the sessions for 2018, with lineups for February and March also being revealed today. On Tuesday, February 12th, the sensational Elska will be bringing her harp from the Gold Coast and playing host for the evening, accompanied by fellow Gold Coast artist Ayla, Sydney’s Steve Smyth and Melbourne based, NZ born TAMMA.

We’re also excited to reveal that the curator of our Tuesday, March 12th event will be Alice Terry, with Phil Stack and Billie McCarthy set to also take to the round. The full lineup will be revealed soon,

Tickets to all shows on sale now. Doors open at 6pm and then the live music runs across two sets, with an intermission, from 8pm to 10.30pm. For more details, head to the Facebook Events for January, February and March.
