Ned Stark to return for Game of Thrones reunion special

It appears that Sean Bean has spilled…the beans? The former Game of Thrones cast member, who portrayed patriarch Ned Stark in the show’s first season, has let slip that HBO has been busy filming a reunion special ahead of the final run of episodes. The one-off special, which was reportedly hosted by Conan O’Brien, was shot in Belfast earlier this year during filming of the final season and will feature past and present cast members in what will undoubtedly be a teary reflection on all the graphic deaths, raunchy sex scenes and shocking plot twists this TV phenomenon has been throwing at us since 2011.

As Entertainment Weekly reports, Bean apparently told The Hollywood Reporter that HBO made the decision to get all the character together “for this big show in Belfast”.

“It was the last episode, so we all got together”, continued Bean. “It’s funny with work, you don’t really keep in touch. You do so many types of jobs in that part of the world. It’s just like whenever I see old friends or even old drama school friends, it’s just the same, we pick up where we left off last time”.

Of course, this all may be for some kind of Home Release special feature, as the special is yet to be confirmed or acknowledged by HBO. What we do know, however, is that the final six episodes of Game of Thrones will return in the first half of 2019. There are strong rumours circulating that we could see the first episode air (in the U.S) on either the 21st or the 28th of April.
