The folks behind Laneway are opening a pool club in Melbourne

Following the enormous success of St Jermone’s – The Hotel, the creators are bouncing back with the launch of The Reunion Island Pool Club, a rooftop pool, bar and leisure venue which is set to swing open its doors this October.

Looking for an island escape in the middle of the bustling city? Want the freedom of a public pool with the class of a modern-day pool club? Well, Reunion Island will have it all. Co-founder Jerome Borazio, the mind behind the legendary Laneway Festival, has said that the club will be set atop the Melbourne Central rooftop, a sprawling under-sky sanctuary of palms, plunge pools, recreational activities and bespoke bar and catering offerings.

“In developing the brand and concept, we wanted to create space which evokes memories of childhood summer holidays. It’s summer in the city.”

Reunion Island Pool Club promises to be a carefully designed space, built to appeal to crowds both in and out of their bathing suits. The club will offer a range of leisure facilities, allowing punters to enjoy yoga, pilates, meditation and massages, all in a venue worthy of that Instagramable dip and after-work sip.

Melissa Polglase, Marketing Manager of Melbourne Central commented on the partnership saying: “We’re hugely excited, and proud, to be partnering with Jerome to bring his new innovative pool club concept to life.”

As a unique historical landmark, flourishing transport hub and prime shopping destination, Melbourne Central has both an energy and cultural significance that can only be enhanced with these kind of experience-driven partnerships. The Reunion Island Pool Club will be open from October through to April, trading from 7am – 11pm. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this is where you’ll want to be. By the pool, cocktail in hand!
