The best New Year’s Day parties in Sydney for 2019

Shake off that epic NYE hangover and make it a two-day binge to bring in the New Year. Sydney’s got some of the best New Year’s Day parties in the world, so sleeping it off just ain’t gonna cut it if you want to kick-start 2019 in the most epic way possible. To help, we’ve rounded up a few of our favourite New Year’s Day parties to help with the hard choices.

Manly Wharf Hotel (Manly)

Manly Wharf Hotel’s New Year’s Day party is a time honoured tradition, with the past few years proving that the beautiful venue is most definitely the place to back up those NYE vibes. Wake up late and head along for canapes and a complimentary drink between 3pm and midnight while local talents Robbie Rommers and Friendless start things off before the day moves into a DJ set from indie heroes Foals, warming up for an evening with legendary DJ Yoda and sure-fire party starters Yolanda Be Cool. More information and tickets here.

Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel (Watsons Bay)

Another venue throwing a huge NYE party but refusing to wind down the following day. Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel will be taken over by none other than pastiche kings Client Liaison as they curate a beach party like no other. They’ve put together the lineup, which includes various DJs like Alex Dimitriades, Nicky Night Time, ledge Tom Tilley, and more. Word is that the duo have a surprise guest in store as well, alongside the big reveal of their months-in-the-making “multisensory experience” that will transform the entire venue in their own special way. More information can be found here

Field Day 2019 (CBD)

With resales now open, make sure you’re keeping an eye out for Field Day tickets as the 2019 edition is guaranteed to be slamming. Fuzzy have put together a huge line-up for their long-running NYD festival, which includes Cardi B, Amy Shark, Bishop Briggs, Chvrches, Sheck Wes, Mallrat, and Juice Wrld. More information can be found here.

Day One (Rose Bay)

Slay that hangover with a party cruise on the harbour as you climb on board The Hamptons, Sydney’s newest luxury yacht, for “One Day”. It’s a party curated by the same folks behind The Island LIVE, bringing in some big names for help welcome 2019, including a surprise headline act, Danny Clayton, Bandit, and Just The Tip. A 2.5 hour premium drinks and canape package will surely help that all go down very nicely, from the moment you board at 2pm via Rose Bay Ferry Terminal to party-end at 7pm. More information can be found here.

NYE Recovery Party (Clovelly)

From 10am, the Clovelly Hotel will be charging into 2019 with a special recovery day garden party that’s open to anyone and everyone for no charge. You’ll need to wear pink though, because the whole think will be themed towards the summer-appropriate colour with gin cocktails, rose beer from Hawkesbury Brewing Co, and of course glasses of rosé. Throw in some BBQ and a bunch of DJs and you’ve got yourself a more relaxed party to keep those New Year’s vibes flowing. More information can be found here.
