Riley welcomes Rocco: Cairns’ first and only rooftop bar

Recently opened luxury resort Riley has lifted the lid on Cairns’ first and only rooftop bar and restaurant, presenting locals and guests with Rocco which sits on the property’s 12th floor. Defined by its 270-degree views of the tropical city and the surrounding Coral Sea, Rocco is being pushed as a venue big on “atmosphere, detail and fun”.

Mediterranean in look and taste, the lavish looking spot combined earthy tones with tropical greenery, printed textiles and timber tones. European inspired share plates take a strong liking to herbs and spice accented vegetables as well as traditional dips and dishes like a grilled sumac calamari with tomato and coriander salsa and caramelised limes, and churro bites with chocolate dipping sauce.

That love of herbs and spices also carries over to the thoughtful list, infused in thoughtful cocktails like the signature Puckerup with local Tablelands honey, freshly squeezed citrus, 666 Pure Vodka, pomegranate and aromatic rose blossom spritz, garnished with dehydrated rose petals; or the Punch Pot (for two) with Moroccan mint green tea reduction and Tanqueray Gin served in from a vaporising tea pot.

Whiskey gets a good hit in with over 40 single malt and blends available on the shelf, as does Champagne with more than 30 options of vintage and non-vintage drops.

Riley was opened by Crystalbrook Collection last year as part of a planned roll out of three sister properties in the city, each with its own character and each sharing a large focus on showcasing sustainability and luxury.
