Carriageworks announce Christmas Farmers Market 2018

Christmas lunch is sorted, with the Carriageworks Christmas Farmers Markets having all the ingredients, produce and gifts you need this festive season.

This year’s Carriageworks Christmas Farmers Market is bringing the best of food and produce to one free festive event on Saturday 22 December form 8 am to 1pm. Not only will you get the fantastic food providers and providores that are regularly at the markets, but will also get to discover 21 new stalls, and a range of fresh seasonal produce and food-related gifts sourced from some of the best producers in New South Wales.

“Carriageworks Christmas Market is the perfect place to buy food and gifts from 120 local producers and artisans. It’s a great opportunity to chat to the makers, get to know more, and share the story about the food you serve and the gifts you give,” Creative Director of Carriageworks Farmers Market and acclaimed Australian chef, Mike McEnearney said.

Of the 21 new stalls added to the Christmas Farmers Market include a Fink Group stall showcasing fine dining restaurants Bennelong and Quay and more. They will have superstar chefs Peter Gilmore and Lennox Hastie at Carriageworks personally signing books and selling merchandise, including a Snow Egg tattoo.

Get organised for Christmas feasts from the regulars like ham from Linga Longa Farm, seasonal fruits from Kurrawong Organics and Drive in Orchards, sparkling wine from Freeman Vineyards and Christmas specials such as Christmas puddings and gluten free mince tarts and gingerbread from Kitchen Green. You can also check out the food-themed gift stalls with unique gifting of ceramics, cookbooks, aprons and more.

Visit the Continental Bar and Deli stall who are selling their range of unique tinned items, and Andy Bowdy of Saga Enmore, who will have a range of festive treats to cover desert needs. The Provider Store will have a range of ethically sourced items for the kitchen, while Seedlip will have a stall for non-alcoholic cocktail inspiration.

Once the shopping is done, head over to Billy Kwong, Bar Pho or Moobi Valley Farm for a bite to eat, before browsing the boutique NSW wines and spirits, perfect for Christmas festivities, from Eloquesta Wines, Demoiselle Distillery, Archie Rose Distilling Co and The Grifter Brewing Co.
