Track of the Day: Young Franco feat. Maribelle “Girls Don’t Cry” (2018)

Fresh off the back of his previous single “About This Thing”, seasoned Sydney based producer Young Franco has returned with a brand new single — the wonderfully funky “Girls Don’t Cry”.

The track sees Young Franco once again teaming up with confidant and collaborator Maribelle – a powerhouse in her own right, with a prolific solo catalogue and a previous spot on Skrillex’s OWLSA label. Their previous collaboration, 2016’s “Miss You”, hit a massive 5 million streams on Spotify and garnered plenty of national and international radio play.

“Girls Don’t Cry” is a real joy. Empowering, funky and with a solid groove, this one is impossible to ignore. Built on Young Franco’s trademark synth chords, and with some playful cowbells mixed in alongside that thick bass line, and you already had the makings of a solid jam. But, Maribelle’s vocals take it to the next level. Brilliant stuff. If this doesn’t get you ready for the weekend, then nothing will.

Fans will have the chance to witness Franco road testing this new piece on the road over the next couple of months as he tackles shows across Europe and Australia. You can find the full Australian dates below. Until then get around “Girls Don’t Cry” and check out Young Franco’s FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
