Sarah Belkner returns in 2019 with the release of her jungle tinged alternate-pop creation of savage beautiful “Animals”. This is an indie-pop croon about a primal full-blown obsessive love being taken on by the very mundane practicalities of life. Belkner’s signature melting vocals carry ethereally over an addictive beat, evoking the stylings of AURORA and Sarah Blasko.
Sarah has been in hot demand for her vocal ability and skills as a keyboardist, and has regularly been seen on national tours with artists including Sarah Blasko, OLYMPIA, Missy Higgins, Abby Dobson, Brendan Maclean, and most recently the enigmatic Tim Minchin.
Sarah has also produced for local artists including Julia Johnson, Jack Colwell & Rosie Catalano. Most recently she co-wrote and produced the critically acclaimed first full length album for another artist, Brendan Maclean’s ‘And The Boyfriends‘.
At the heart of everything is always Belkner’s voice. A voice that is both soothing and powerful at the same time. Stick “Animals” on repeat and it will reward you richly.
The track was produced by Sarah and Richard Belkner at Free Energy Device Studios, in Sydney.
Sarah is playing in Melbourne, on Thursday 16th May at The Gasometer, supporting Brendan Maclean – buy tickets HERE
