Track of the Day: Leonie Kingdom “So Much More” (2018)

A fragile and beautiful track, Hervey Bay artist Leonie Kingdom has dropped the latest song “So Much More” from her debut EP Night Terrors. A song about learning from mistakes and life experiences, learning and growing along the way, the delicately performed song reminds listeners that there is light beyond the darkness and so much to look forward to.

Performing for around eight years, Kingdom is no stranger to the stage having played in pubs, festivals and special events. From Tamworth Music Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival and Hervey Bay Ocean Festival to winning the title at Hervey Bay’s Unplugged competition, Leonie Kingdom and her impeccable talent is one to be watched.

Recorded and produced in Pacific International Studios by Robert Mackay, the sweet and enveloping song holds a remarkable and raw reality of darkness and traversing the path to find the light again. Kingdom said:

“I thought it would be refreshing to put a lighter and positive feel into a song with a big meaning. Encouraging people to keep going when life gets tough and remember there are other people going through their own struggles in life. We are not alone.”

Whilst minimal, the acoustic track highlights the incredible emotion oozing in Kingdom’s distinctive voice and her brilliant lyrics. Mysterious and wrapped in darkness, the guitar adds a hint of lightness that brings the entire song alive. Noted as being a professional, persistent and full of potential, Kingdom has great things on the horizon and it’s songs like this that are paving the way.
