Track of the Day: Kae the Goat & Droopo “Dex Up” (2019)

As part of Melbourne’s Gremlns crew, rappers Kae the Goat and Droopo are aggressively aiming for the coveted top spots in Australia’s ever-changing hip hop industry. Fuelling those ambitions is new track “Dex Up”, a collaboration between the two artists which has immediately grabbed attention across the country thanks to its pounding production and slick raps.

After racking up hundreds of thousands of streams on U.S platform Audiomack, the duo seem poised to test the idea of what Aussie hip hop is, as the scene continues to reshape and diversify.

“Dex Up” comes packaged with a simple, earth-shattering beat put together by Datner x TEVA, fertile ground for both rappers to flex their considerable, modern flows. And hopefully we’ll be hearing more like this fairly seen, given the duo are set to drop a collaborative EP titled Locked In next month.
