Track of the Day: Guerilla Toss “Green Apple” (2018)

Dense and hypnotic, New York art-rock group Guerilla Toss have given us another delicious oddity with “Green Apple”. Following the swift and absurd “Meteorological”, it’s the second cut from forthcoming album Twisted Sister and is just as propulsive with a very tye-dyed distorted vocal performance from lead Kassie Carlson and a particular frantic thrust from drummer Peter Negroponte.

Surely one of the more interesting pieces of music released in August, “Green Apples” further indicates that this new album will be deeply experimental, even for a band that’s already built from interesting tangents and colourful soundscapes. The controlled chaos of this track is fuelled by it’s increasingly dense pattern and serves as a nice introduction for those not yet onto the wonderful weirdness of this inventive Boston-born five-piece.

We just had to make this one our track of the day so catch an ear-full below and keep up to date with band over on their Facebook.
