Interview: RÜFÜS DU SOL announce 2019 Australian tour, talks ARIAs and new album

We sat down with RÜFÜS DU SOL in Sydney recently to chat about their new album Solace and get exclusive details about their upcoming Australian tour in 2019. From feeling the pressures of touring life and becoming estranged from affairs back at home in Australia, the band says the new album is infused with a shared experience of feeling under pressure, overwhelmed and missing home.

As well as a recent move to L.A., the band has also universally adopted the RÜFÜS DU SOL name across all markets, instead of simply “RÜFÜS” which they have used in Australia since 2010. We asked the band about whether it was an easy transition for them to make and how they create the perfect setlist now that they have three LPs of material under their belts.

Australian fans won’t have to wait long at all to see the popular act as they have just announced a run of shows in Australia between January and March 2019. We spoke with the band about their new and advanced live stage design as well as how ecstatic they are to be recognised and nominated for two ARIA Awards – Best Group and Best Dance Release.

RÜFÜS DU SOL 2019 tour dates:

Sydney — January 1, Field Day

Melbourne — February 15, Sidney Myer Music Bowl

Adelaide — February 20, Adelaide Entertainment Centre

Perth — February 22, Fremantle Arts Centre

Margaret River — February 23, 3 Oceans Winery
