Written at the beginning of a new relationship, “Slowly”, a song about taking things one step at a time, is the title track from singer-songwriter Loni Rae Thomson’s forthcoming debut EP.
Ahead of the official release of the single tomorrow, we’re very excited to bring you not only this exclusive stream but also the single’s accompanying video clip, made in collaboration with acclaimed photographer and videographer Nick McKinlay.
The song, which cautions against diving headfirst into a new relationship, is a beautiful and bittersweet track that pulls at the listeners heart-strings. Thomson’s sublime vocals soar above a grounding bed of propulsive heartbeat drums. It might be called “Slowly”, but this is a track that’s just begging to be played loud and danced to. It’s the kind of song that’ll hook you in and not let go until that runtime is up.
The accompanying video, which was created in collaboration with Nick McKinlay, offers a sumptuous and visually stunning back drop to Thomson’s music. Filmed at Brighton Beach during a classic Australian sunset, the video is both evocative and captivating. It’s truly beautiful stuff.
