Fresh from setting tails wagging at BIGSOUND with his new material, this morning the AU is thrilled to premiere the new stunning track from Edward R, “Why Won’t You Love Me?”. The single is the second to be taken from his new EP Body Corporate, due out October 12th.
The new EP from the 27-year-old Melbourne based, Sunshine Coast born musician and producer, whose real name is Geoffrey Roberts, is being described as “a five-song opus of intricate, immersive, psychedelic pop that recalls Ariel Pink and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.”
The press notes continue, “Written after a period of uncertainty and emotional turmoil, the EP explores love, heartache and connection through the story of a man from the past who is transported into the future, who is looking for love. Over the five tracks, Edward explores these themes through 60s chamber-pop hooks, dreamy guitar riffs and elegant, lush production, that harkens to the past but feels firmly planted in the present.”
The EP is the follow up the the critically acclaimed Agrabah, which was released back in 2016, and this single certainly helps further set the EP’s self-described dreamy tone, perhaps even more so than the first single “Paradise” did to critical acclaim just a few weeks ago.
