Arctic Monkeys announce arena shows for Australia and New Zealand

Sheffield rockers Arctic Monkeys have today announced a triumphant return to Australia and New Zealand, bringing Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino down our way for a tour across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Auckland. What’s more is that they will be bringing friends and collaborators Mini Mansions along for the ride, the L.A band filling support duties for all shows.

The Mercury Prize-nominated Tranquillity Base is just their sixth in a long line of consistently successful records that have seen Arctic Monkeys slot firmly into place as one of the most popular bands of their generation. The album went down as the UK’s fastest-selling vinyl in over two decades, and debuted at the top spot on Australia’s ARIA Album Chart in May of this year.

The forthcoming run of arena shows will be as good a chance as any to see how Alex Turner and crew have brought the new material to life, as well as dabble in classics like (hopefully included) hits “Fake Tales of San Francisco”, “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor”, “Mardy Bum”, and “Do I Wanna Know?”

As with all the times Arctic Monkeys have graced our shores in the past, this will sell fast. There will be a few chances at pre-sales, the first being the Telstra pre-sale on Tuesday 30th October (10am local time), followed by the Frontier Members pre-sale on Thursday 1st November (2pm local time). General sale will begin on Wednesday 7th November at 2pm local time. Grab all information and ticket details from frontiertouring.com. Interestingly enough, all shows are All Ages.
