After a bit of a quiet month for freebies in May, Xbox looks to be coming back strong in June with a suite of top tier Games With Gold titles, from recent releases like NHL 19 to verified Xbox 360 classic Portal.
Here’s how the full list shakes out: On June 1, you’ll have access to two titles right away, arguably the best ones of the month — EA Sports NHL 19 and Portal: Still Alive. NHL launched on the Xbox One in September last year and, even if you’re not that into sports titles, we urge you to give it a go. It’s a super strong game of movement and strategy and we reckon you’ll actually really like it. And then there’s Portal. Does Portal even need an introduction at this point? A once-in-a-generation video game experience made by a team of student developers at the legendary Valve Corporation, if you haven’t played Portal yet, you now have no excuse. This is the Xbox 360 version, but it is backwards compatible with your Xbox One.
On June 16, your titles will change over and you’ll get pixel art tactical platformer Rivals of Aether for the Xbox One and chaotic Japanese shooter Earth Defense Force 2017 on the Xbox 360. Both are fantastic ways to spend time with friends and will provide plenty of ridiculous laughs. Again, Earth Defense Force 2017 is an Xbox 360 title but is backwards compatible with your Xbox One.
